Total Cost Set At £750,000

(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, August 12,

Sir Ernest Davis, chairman of the provisional directorate for the New Zealand gin distillery to be erected at Newmarket, stated tonight that there had been many delays consequent on the number of interests connected with , the project. These had now practically been resolved, and the provisional directorate met in Auckland today Mr Leslie Nairn, who arrived in Auckland today and who is a director of Seagar Evans and Company, Ltd., London, one of the United Kingdom participating companies was present and took part in the discussion. Sir Ernest Davis said plans had advanced sufficiently in connexion with the grain distilling and rectifying and bottling plants to make it apparent that the total expenditure involved would be about £750,000.
