£70,000 OF GOLD IN TWO MONTHS
Rich Returns From Two Dredges (From Our Own Reporter) GREYMOUTH, July 2. Nearly £70,000 worth of bullion won in the last two months by the Arahura and Kaniere dredges. .'R 1 ® Arahura gold dredge, operated by Gold Mines of New ZeaLtd -. an area on the Arahura river between Grevm°uth and Hokitika last month yielded one of the best returns in recent years. Its total of 1775 ounces of bullion beat the previous highest figure of 1650 ounces in May.
Kaniere dredge, operating at Teremakau and owned by the same company, yielded 1099 ounces of bullion last month The combined value of the gold from dred «®s last month was f”4 ™ , compared with nearly £35.000 in May.
