Minister’s Statement Embarrasses Court
(New Zeaiana Preet Aeeoctattoni WELLINGTON, July 3. The president of the Arbitration Court (Mr Justice Tyndall) today criticised a reference to the need for a restraint on wages in the Economic Survey presented to Parliament by the Minister of Finance (Mr Nordmeyer) yesterday. “The reference to the need for a restraint on wages while this Court is sitting is rather embarrassing to us, to say the least,” said his Honour. Mr A. P. O’Shea, one of the advocates appearing for the employers: It is helpful to us. Very timely, I think.
