Western Samoan Trade With N.Z. (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 2. For the first time, Samoa’s banana exports last year were worth more than £1 million, says the annual report on Western Samoa, tabled in the House of Representatives today. During the year 884.555 cases of bananas were exported to New Zealand at an export value of £l,oo7,lB9—about 35 per cent, of the total value of the territory’s exports. Cocoa exports, at 4209 tons, increased by 1140 tons on 1957. The value of these exports was £1,247,308.
