Mental Hospital Escaper
(N«u> Zealand Press Association) NELSON, July 2. John Charles La Coste, charged with unlawfully converting a car in Christchurch on Tuesday, appeared before Mr H. J. Thompson, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court at Nelson this morning. La Coste, also known as Edward Kean, escaped from Sunnyside Mental Hospital earlier this week, and was arrested in Nelson on Wednesday. He was remanded to appear in Christchurch next Monday. Senior-Sergeant A. G. Beal said other charges against La Coste were pending. After the Court sitting this L* Costa was taken to Christchurch in a police car. “You can do business with anyone but you can only sail 9 be a t with a gentleman.”—J. p. Marya
