11 Men Killed In Mexico (N.Z. Press Association-Copyright) MEXICO CITY, July 2. An oil pipeline exploded in the State of Tabasco yesterday. Eleven men were reported killed, with many more injured. The explosion occurred near Vernet, about 400 miles southeast of Mexico City, in a pipeline of Pemex, the Governmentowned oil company. The Tabasco State Governor (Mr Carlos Madrazo) telephoned Mexico City that troops and medical aid had been rushed to the explosion site, which was near the town of Villahermosa. The Governor also went to the scene.

Mr Madrazo said gas from the pipeline was hovering over a wide area, and troops were patrolling in an effort to prevent another explosion.
