Russia
Sir,—Mr Heal pins his faith to guesses. He favours atheistic Russia, £ut quotes Sripture. He condemns the West but is concerned for the free world. Democracy cannot be saved by defeatism, however. ' The words of the poet should be heeded: “If we fail, we fail, but let us screw up our courage to the sticking point and we’ll not fait” We won’t even be attacked.— Yours, etc.,
T. E. SHAW. Westport, July 2, 1959. [P. J. Alley may briefly reply, closing this correspondence. —Ed., “The Press.”]
