COMMENTS ON GAME

“Had we received a little more ball in the first half, it might have been a different story,” said the convener of the New Zealand Universities selection panel (Mr R. B. Burke) when asked for his comments on the game. “The boys came back well in the second half and that is the main thing. There’s no doubt about the merit of the win, however,” he said. Mr A. W. Wilson, manager of the British Isles team, said he was pleased with the manner m which his team played and particularly the forwards, who were improving all the time. “The boys were wonderful the way they came back under pressure m that second half. It was just a pity there was not another 15 minutes left for we might have gone somewhere close,” said the captain of the Universities side, J. B. S. Hutchinson.
