LONDON, June 43. Britain qualified for the semifinals of the European zone of the Davis Cup competition by beating Chile 3-1 at Eastbourne today. Bobby Wilson clinched the match for Britain by beating Patricio Rodriguez, 8-6, 6-3, 6-3, in the first of the remaining two singles on the final day. In the sem i- fi nals . Britain will meet the winners of the match between Spain and Brazil. In the second singles match today, the Chilean No. 1, Luis Ayala, beat Michael Davies, the British No. 1, 9-7. 6-0. 6-3.
