High Standard Of Playing The general standard of playing at the Canterbury junior brass bands' annual solo and quartet contests held in Christchurch was hiffh, according to the judge (Mr R. J. Estall, M.8.E.). All the players would have to strive for greater concentration on tuning, however, he said. The senior vice-president of the Canterbury Provincial Brass Bands’ Association (Mr A. M.
