Free Lighting

Electricity for use in decorative lighting for the Auckland harbour bridge opening festivities will be made available free of charge for 14 days, the Waitemata Electric Power Board has decided. In a letter to the East Coast Bays Borough Council the board said that the strings ot lighting must be connected to a community lighting system and therefore under the control of the local authority. The board will arrange for the connection of the lighting so that it will not register on a meter.
