Slip On Evans Pass Road

A slip of earth and boulders on to the Evans Pass road above Battery Point occurred about 10 p.m. yesterday. The slip caused no damage, but blocked the road to traffic until a one-way traffic lane was cleared by Lyttelton Borough Council workmen assisted by a patrol of the Christchurch Police.

Most of the slip will be removed by the council this morning as it was not thought safe to try to move it in the dark.
