East-Asia Christian Conference

An all-Asian Christian Council will be formed at a conference of member churches of the World Council of Churches in the area from West Pakistan to New Zealand to be held in Kuala Lumpur on May 14. The conference will decide on the future organisation of the East-Asian Christian Council and its methods and undertakings. It will make a study of the difficulties and the opportunities of spreading the Gospel in Asia as it is today. It will also examine ways in which churches in Asia and beyond can be of mutual assistance in attending to human need in the area.

About 130 persons, including observers from Africa and members of eight Christian bodies in New Zealand, will attend the conference.
