Barylli Group Not Able To Tour N.Z. (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON. April 9. The engagement and appearance of another overseas string quartet within one week of advice of the cancellation of the Australian and New Zealand tour of the Barylli Quartet is considered no mean achievement by the New Zealand' Federation of Chamber Music Societies and its sister body in Australia. the Musica Viva Society. Early last week it was learned that through the illness of Walter Barylli, its leader, the Barylli Quartet could hot leave Vienna. An urgent world-wide search began which resulted in the appearance in Sydney at the end of the week of the Feld String Quartet, resident quartet at the University of Reddlands. California. This means the itinerary for the first overseas chamber music ensemble : to tour for the federation this . year will remain virtually unaltered. • x
