BUENOS AIRES RIOTS
Russian Embassy Blamed
(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) BUENOS AIRES, April 7. Four members of the Russian Embassy staff in Argentina and a member of the Rumanian Embassy staff have been declared persona non grata and ordered to leave the country, British United Press reported.
An announcement earlier today said that the Soviet Counsellor (Mr Nicolai Belous) had been told to Argentina within 48 hours.
The order came after wide speculation in diplomatic quarters that the Argentine authorities were concerned with the connexion of some foreign diplomats with riotous demonstrations on April 3. Reuter said the other Russians were Messrs Dimitri Kikonov, the First Secretary, Konstantin Monokov, the Cultural Secretary, and Vasili Ivashov, commercial officer at the Soviet Embassy. The Rumanian was Mr Alexis Marin, the Cultural Secretary. The Argentine Government said they fomented the recent unrest in Buenos Aires.
