Food for Hawks.—According to a report recently published in an American agricultural journal, hawks seldom prey on the chickens •of other and smaller birds, but rather wage a relentless war on rodents and insects. It has been conservatively estimated that one hawk alone saves the farmer an average of £5O a year in the eradication of rodents.
