N.Z. TRADE WITH JAPAN

Tokyo Banker Confers With Mr Nash

(New Zealana Press Association) WELLINGTON, March 9.

All aspects of trade and the financing of trade between the countries were discussed by the Prime Minister (Mr Nash) and the president of the Bank of Tokyo (Mr Shigeo Horie) when the latter called on him last Friday. Mr Nash said today that, in general, the discussions between them were related to trade. The question of bilateral trade deals was not discussed as such, nor was the question of outside capital investment. “There was no discussion on direct bilateral trade between Japan and New Zealand involving coal or lumber,” said Mr Nash, “and there was no question of bargaining so far as other commodities were concerned.”
