Officers For Year Elected
Miss Mary McLean gave a talk on the fine service being given by Australian Red Cross nurses in Malaya at the annual meeting of the Merivale sub-centre of the North Canterbury Centre of the New Zealand Red Cross Society. A thorough study of the Declaration of Human Rights was recommended by Miss McLean, who said that every woman should understand its implications. The president in her annual report spoke of a need for more members. The financial statement showed that the sub-centre had collected £ll6 2s during the year. This amount, except for £ll, had been sent in to the North Canterbury Centre for specified purposes. Officers were elected as follows:—president, Mas M. B Warren; secretary, Mrs F. E. Wait; treasurer. Miss K. Ferguson: vice-presidents, Mesdames T. F Gibson, R. W. Morrow. D. S Radcliff and W S. McGibbon committee, Mesdames C. W Olllver, Sinclair, Murchison Holm, Turnbull, Y. M. Robinson H. Haiti, H. Wright, E. J. Cordner P. Mating, G. Beadel, J. O’N Tobin, F. S. Bristed, Innes Jones and C. Marshal, Misses P. Boyle, N. Drummond and N. Enright.
