Ham And Air Pollution

Sir, —In the reports and letters about the Ham smokestack it has occurred to me that one rather interesting point has not been raised. If I wanted to erect a factory complete with a nice smokey, dusty chimney a hundred feet high in Creyke road, what would the authorities say to me. But the Government has arranged that it does not have to conform to the Town Planting Act which covers the placement of such pleasant nuisances. Hence it can do as its pleases in a dean-air suburb.—Yours, etc, ELECTOR No. 2. February M IH9.
