CANOE CAUGHT BY TIDE
Man Missing At Raglan (New Zeal ana Press Auwtatwni AUCKLAND, March 1. Peter Derrick Luckie, married, a commercial artist, of. Hamilton, is missing following a canoe expedition across the Raglan bar this afternoon. He was one of a party of five who set out 'in three canoes. In the other two. canoes were Alan Birch and Arthur Appleby, Australians making a world tour, and John Kendrick, of Hamilton, and Neville Walters, of Frankton. The party went out on a strong tide which was still running when they tried to get back into the harbour about 4 p.m. The occupants of the two two-men canoes were washed Up on Ocean Beach, near Bryant House, in an exhausted condition. Launches and aircraft took part in an extensive but fruitless seach for Mr Luckie Until dark. The search will be resumed at dawn tomorrow.
