Road Safety

Sir,—l notice with pleasure that the authorities have painted double white lines on the Blenheim road overhead bridge. I suggest that the same be done to the Waltham overhead bridge before someone is killed, as the overtaking rule is broken dozens of times daily on this bridge. Also a few “stop” or “give way” signs are badly needed on the Wal-tham-St. Martins route; three dangerous intersections being St. Martins road. Bunyan-Rogers streets, and Hastings street One of the most dangerous corners must be that at the Crematorium. The high hedge may enclose sacred ground but It completely blocks the view of anyone going to and from South New Brighton.—Yours, etc, REGULAR USER February 27, 1959.
