FINE YIELD OF AOTEA WHEAT
104 Bushels To Acre At Woodend
A fraction more than 104 bushels of Aotea wheat to the acre were taken recently from a 13 acre paddock owned by Mr G. W. Reid, of Woodend. The yield had been measured by representatives of the New Zealand Farmers’ Co-op Association, Ltd., Rangiora, who on Monday accurately measured the paddock also. The yield was the best Mr Reid has yet had and is by fat the best brought to the notice of the company this season. The yield is considered particularly good in view of the dry season that has been experienced. Jn previous years Mr Reid has had harvests of between 70 and 80 bushels.
