Lawn Tennis MATCH AGAINST AUSTRALIANS

B. R. Judge To Play

The Cashmere junior, B. R. Judge, has been added to the team which will oppose the visiting New South Wales lawn tennis players in their match at Wilding Park on Saturday. Judge will replace another Cashmere junior, P. S. Alexander, who has withdrawn from the team because of the recurrence of an Injury suffered last month.

Judge was runner-up in the New Zealand under-17 singles title in Wellington last month, and last year won the under-17 doubles title. He is at present ranked eighth on the Canterbury senior men’s ladder.

Hopman Davis Cup Captain Again (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) Feb. 17. The Australian Lawn Tennis Association today reappointed Mr Harry Hopman captain of AustraUa’a Davis- Cup team. Mr Hopman will leave with the team in May for overseas tournaments which include the Italian. French, and Wimbledon championships. Later, the team—N. Fraser, R. Emerson, R* Mark, R. Laver, M. Mulligan and K, Fletcher—will go to the United States for the Davis Cup matches., ■ -
