BILLY GRAHAM CRUSADE
Preliminary Classes Held About 1400 prospective counsellors for the Billy Graham crusade in Christchurch attended the first of six weekly instruction classes last,evening, in St Paul’s Presbyterian Church. Two sessions were held to accommodate the large numbers. The Rev. Warner Hutchison, a former member of Dr. Billy Graham’s team, who is conducting the opening classes in the three crusade centres of Wellington, Auckland and Christchurch, led the group. The next four classes will be led by local ministers, and the final one by the Rev. Dan Piett, who is a member of Dr. Graham’s team. Mr Hutchison gave counsellors a general introduction to the crusade’s system and explained their duties, which will consist of helping people at the crusade meetings who, wish to become Christians. At the other classes counselors will be given instruction in the Christian Faith, following a pattern used in similar classes during Dr. Graham’s crusades throughout the world. Not aH of those attending the classes will be on fluty at the meetings. All wil] be carefully screened,, and anyone thought ta be unsatisfactory will be asked to withdraw. At the actual meetings, the counsellors will wear a distinctive identification
