Bookmakers disregarded the win and kept him at equal third favoundam for the Inter-Dominion final. Two Harings Two other New Zealand pacers. Derive and Super Royal both InterDominion contestants, put up good performances last night. In the first division of the Kensington Free-for-All, Derive finished second to.the Tasmanian champion. Hare Alley, after attempting to lead all the way. In the third division. Super RoyaL after being slowly away and one of the last horses all the way, finished strongly to take third money. Dertve’s effort was the* more Impressive. He led from the start and was in front by a dear length with three laps to go. Coming in to the beU lap, Hare Alley moved up on the outside and looked as if he would go on to win easily, but Derive fought on, and half a lap from home even headed the Tasmanian. Super Royal. which last won at the New Zealand Cup meeting, was not extended to run third in her race.
