Assistant Director Of Civil Aviation

Mr L. F. P. Taylor, who has been promoted from divisional controller of operations, Civil Aviation Administration, Wellington, to Assistant Director of Civil Aviation, was a wing commander in the Royal New Zealand Air Force in World War 11. In 1930 he went to England and joined the Brooklands School of Flying at Weybridge. After returning to New Zealand and working as chief instructor to the Wellington Aero Club, he was with Cook Strait Airways, Ltd., from 1938 to 1939. He then joined the R.N.Z.A.F. and was promoted from squadron leader to wing commander in 1944. He was Director of Flying Control from 1945 to 1950, during which time he attended a number of aviation conferences overseas.
