FOURTH TEST IN INDIA
Good Score By West Indies MADRAS, January 22. The West Indies scored briskly i against India when the fourth test match was resumed today, adding 92; runs before lunch to their overnight total of 283 for five. The only batsman to lose his wicket in -the morning session was J. Solomon, wiho made 43. B. Butcher was 84 not out at the interval. Yesterday there was fine spin bowling by V. Mankad, India's great all-rounder, who dismissed G. Sobers and A. G. Smith tn one over. The 41-year-old Mankad, making his first appearance in the series, took over the leadership of India shortly before play began. after P Umrigar had resigned because of a misunderstanding with the Indian selectors. The selectors accepted Umrigar’s resignation from the captaincy, although later naming the team he had wanted R. Kanhai was run out tor 99 when, attempting a sharp single.
