£3OO In Fines For Breaches (New Zeaiana Free, AMOctationi WELLINGTON, Jan. 22. Fines of £lOO each were imposed today by the executive committee of the New Zealand Racing Conference on E. C. Loisel and G. W. B. Greene, joint owners of Yoga, and on Mrs M. E. Nestor-Bayliss, owner of Heroic Dogger, for wrongly entering and starting the horses in hack races when they were not eligible. Loisel and Greene were charged with entering and starting Yoga In five hack races in 1958. the horse having ceased to be a hack after winning at Cambridge on November 9, 1957. Yoga was unplaced in the first four, and won the fifth at Whangarei on October 18, 1958. with a' stake of £205 to the winner. Both defendants pleaded guilty. and each was fined £5O fdr en-i tering the horse' and £5O for starting it at Whangarei. They were discharged on the remaining charges. No direction was necessary regarding the stake-as this had been refunded to the club. Yoga was disqualified, for all the races. Mrs Nestor-Bayliss was charged with entering and starting Heroic Dogger in five hack hurdle races during the latter part of 1957 when it was-not eligible. Heroic Dogger was unplaced in two of the five races concerned, but was placed in the other three, winning stakes to the value of £230.
