Failure To Pass Examination

' (From Out Own Hep'orter} , WELLINGTON, January 22. Gold Medal, a four-year-old entire by Knight’s Romance from Beech Hill has failed to pass a veterinary examination which was ordered after a big United States offer had been made for him. Gold Medal has been the outstanding miler at the Wellington summer races. On the first day he won the Anniversary Handicap after being in front all the way and on Monday he won the January Handicap. His record at Trentham is four wins from as many starts.. He will attempt his fifth on Saturday in the Thorndon Handicap, for which he is likely to be well fancied. Bred at the West Derby Stud, Levin„ Gold Medal was trained at Wanganui by N. W. Belsbam for Mr .S. Gonnors until Belsham’s suspension on Saturday. In the meantime he has entered W. J. Bromby’s stable at Trentham.
