Outstanding Swim

At Auckland ' (New Zeaiana Press Association) AUCKLAND. January 15. B. Robertson, the outstanding Auckland intermediate swimmer, became the outstanding senior backstroker when he beat the Auckland and national senior champion. M. Tansley, at the opening session of the Auckland swimming championships at the Newmarket Olympic Pool this evening. Robertson, the New Zealand and Auckland intermediate recordholder, beat Tansley in the senior 110 yards backstroke in record time Robertson’s Auckland record, the fiDst of the championships, lowered Tansley *a mark from 70.5 sec to 70.1 sec. The national mark for the event is 66.8 sec, held by L. Hurting.
