Labour’s Record
Sir,—l would point out to R. Davis that I for one always try never to write anything I would be ashamed of. Perhaps some of us do not like boasting and seeing our name in large print. In any case the Editor uses his discretion as to fair comment Thank goodness Labour hasn’t been able to dictate to us to sign our name.— Yours, etc., LIbERAT ~ January 14, 1959.
Sir,—Surely the question so often asked—What would the National Party do if it was in power now—maybe arrived at by saying .that the National Party would not havp plunged the country into the appalling ' mess Labour has, and therefore would not have had to put on such harsh restrictions, admittedly some on account of the fall in overseas prices. Remember National did not buy its way in for £30,000,000. Mr' Bryce seems to have forgotten the remarks of the Auditor-General, when he explained how the £21,000,000 tax rebate alone, had disrupted the country’s finances. However, I am sure Mr Bryce, A.F.P. and "Far Back Dan” can relax and enjoy that famous slogan, “Labour /Iways Keeps its Promises”— hence the now P.A.Y.E. tatJlhs.— Yours, etc; ' SUNDOWN. January 12, 1959.
