COAL SHIPMENT DELAYED
Rain Stops Work Of Loading
Loading operations on the Japanese coal ship in Greymouth were held up yesterday on account of rain, which destroyed hopes for a quick turn round for the vessel.
Loading commenced at 8 a.m., but the heavy showers caused a cessation of work several times. The ship is to take away 2000 tons of coal, and she will not now leave port until tomorrow, that is providing the weather is favourable.
Visit to Morocco.—Sir Winston Churchill and Lady Churchill' will receive the traditional Bedouin welcome of drum beating and the high piping of woodwinds by Berber tribesmen when they arrive in Marrakesh on holiday today. They will fly from London in a specially-chartered airliner put at their disposal by the Greek millionaire shipowner, Mr Aristotle Onassis.—Marrakesh (Morocco). January 12.
