13 Apprentices J Selected

They are:—Richard K. Berge ; (Queen Elizabeth Technical Col- i lege, Palmerston North); James [ A. G. Bremner (King Edward | Technical College. Dunedin; Anthony E. Brown (Selwyn College, Dunedin); Stewart I. Grant (King i Edward Technical College, Dune- ; din); Geoffrey S. Kelly (Taka- : puna Grammar School); Thomas E. Hobbs (Waitaki Boys’ High School); Donald C. Kingsford (Hutt Valley High School); Graham B. McCarthy (Nelson , College); Gordon F. Offen (Hast- j ing’s Boys’ High School); John M. I Stewart (Kerikeri High School); I Denis J. Williams (Technical Col- I lege, Wellington); Kenneth C. ] Williams (Opotiki College), 1 Robert J. Wright (Lincoln District ? High School). ? The 13 recruits joined H.M.N.Z.S I Philomel on January 8. They I will spend 16 months in the I Devonport Naval Dockyard and I will then sail for Britain where | they will receive training in the | Royal Navy for another three I years.
