NEW YORK, January 11

The Soviet Union will transfer Mr Vyacheslav Molotov, the former Foreign Minister, from his post in Outer Mongolia to Ambassador to the Netherlands, the “New York Times” reported today.

James Reston, the newspaper’s chief Washington correspondent, said an official of the Netherlands Embassy in Washington said Moscow had requested permission for Mr Molotov to bq named to The Hague post. Permission had been granted.
