Inaccessibility Pole (N.Z. Press Association—Copyrtaht) (Rec. 8.40 p.m.) MOSCOW, December 19. A Russian aeroplane has made the first landing at the Pole of Inaccessibility in the Antarctic, where a Soviet base was set up last week, the Soviet news agency, Tass, reported. The aircraft took on board four members of the sleigh and tractor team which set up the station and flew back to the main Soviet Antarctic base at Mirny, after refuelling at the Australian base of Mawson.

The Pole of Inaccessibility is the point in Antarctica furthest away from any of its shores.
