“BAD YEAR” FOR SOCCER

N.Z. Association Lost £2500 (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, Dec. 10. The New Zealand Football Association lost about £2500 last season, according to a report from the treasurer, Mr J. Cowie. At a meeting of the council. Mr Cowie summed up the season as a “pretty bad year.” The Australian tour of New Zealand had cost the association £1515, said Mr Cowie, the NeuCaledonian tour £567, and New Zealand selectors’ expenses for the season were about £504. There was also a £92 loss on the NorthSouth Island game at the Basin Reserve. Mr Cowie said, however, there had been a slight profit on the ordinary year’s working—the association’s own competitions.
