Five years ago, there was only one fulltime Presbyterian chaplain—at Seacliff mental hospital, near Dunedin. The Presbyterian General Assembly intends to appoint two chaplains a year Until each major mental and public hospital in New Zealand has a full-time chaplain on its staff.
