FILM BANNED IN MALTA

(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) VALETTA, December 8. “Base behaviour and dialogue’’ by Frank Sinatra. Rita Hayworth and Kim Novak have led Roman Catholic Church authorities in Malta to ban the film, “Pal Joey,” the story of a United States night dub entertainer, the Associated Press reported. The Church Film Commission, which saw the picture, awarded it an “H” (condemned) certificate, making it a mortal sin for Maltese Catholics to see it. Last week the church banned Mickey Rooney’s “Baby Face Nelion,” a gangiter film.
