VICTORIA LEAGUE
Young Contingent’s Dance About 80 members of the Young Contingent of the Victoria League and their friends, among whom were visitors from the country and from overseas, attended the last formal dance of the group for the year last evening. The president <Mr D. Fahey) and the secretary (Miss R. Thompson) received the guests in the foyer of the home of Dr. J. R. Dawson and Mrs Dawson in Wairarapa terrace. Fendalton. The lounge, dancing room and supper room were decorated with bowls of roses, rhododendrons, lupins and delphiniums. The dancing room led on to'an outdoor balcony where guests rested between dances and were served refreshments from a punch-bowl. Among those who helped with arrangements for the evening were Misses B. Brodrick, B. Blakely, H. Talbot, H. Aldridge, E. McDonna, J. McFarlane, S. Van Asch and Messrs P. N. G. Blaxall, J. Wilson, J. Farrell, I. Pringle, P. Hutchinson and R. Godfrey. Miss Thompson wore a floor length dress of deep blue polished satin figured in white with white gloves and ear-rings.
