RESENTMENT IN MALAYA
Description Ci ven In Encyclopaedia (Special Correspondent N.7..P.A.) LONDON, November 26. Public leaders in Malaya have demanded that the Encyclopaedia Britannica should end its “insults to the Malay people." They have taken offence at an entry which savs the Malays arc “indolent, pleasure-loving, improvident. fond of bright clothing, if com fort, of ease, and dislike toil exceedingly." The president of the PanMalayan Islamic Party. Dr. Alhelmy. said this was unjustifiable. “Just as there are indolent Englishmen so there are indolent Malays. It is unfair to apply the particular to the general." he said
