AUSTRALIAN WOOL BUREAU

Changes In Policy (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) MELBOURNE. Nov. 26. The Australian Wool Bureau will recruit the "best brains possible” to build up a more efficient wool promotion organisation, the chairman (Mr W. A. Gunn) said last night. .He said the bureau was to appoint: a manager of promotions: three technical liaison officers who would work in conjunction with the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation and manufacturers; extra staff for the statistical branch. Mr Gunn said the statistical branch would endeavour. by market research, to find out the best avenues for the sale of wool. “There will be less and less prestige advertising,” he said, “and more and more point of sale advertising.” Referring to a new chemical method of making woollen garments shrink-proof, Mr Gunn said wool could now be made mothproof. crease-proof, and I shrink-proof.
