EVANS BAY POWER STATION
Operation To End In Six Months (New Zealand Press Association, WELLINGTON, Nov. 26. Because most of the power projects on the Waikato river were near completion, it would b< necessary for the Evans Bay power station to remain in operation for only another six months, the Minister of State Electricity (Mr Watt) told a deputation today, according to 6 supplied report A deputation from the Rongo-tai-Kilbirnie Residents' Associaation asked for sufficient grit arresters to halt the dirt nuisance from the station. The president of the association (Mr R. P. Wickenden) also quoted the Minister as saying that, as things looked now, the i plant at Evans Bay would be I placed on the emergency list and i when used would run on oil and I not coal.
