Crash Helmets
Sir.—A short time ago I had a serious fall from a motor-cycle and consequently spent some time in hospital. Undoubtedly my life was saved by wearing a crash helmet. I understand that most fatal motor-cycle accidents occur in built-up areas where the wearing of crash helmets is not enforced and in view of that may I say as a word of advice to others: "Always wear a crash helmet if you want to be a permanent New Zealander and not just a temporary one.”—Yours, ALL SMASHED UP. November 21. 1958.
