Some Lad May Miss Derby
Some Lad, winner of the Riccarton Stakes on the first day of the cup meeting, may have to miss the New Zealand Derby Stakes at Addington on Saturday He is receiving treatment for a bee sting suffered earlier in the week, and although his condition is improving his part-owner and trainer, T. H. Gunning, thinks it doubtful that he will be able to start in the Derby Stakes. Brackets For Addington Brackets for the third day of the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club's cup meeting at Addington on Saturday are:— Certissimus Handicap: Estelle and Coming Down. Hayward Handicap: Finestra and Robert Dillon. Allan Matson Handicap: Auditor and Suzendy. November Handicap: Gay Alabama and Johnny Derby, Harlequin Parade and Highland Heath, Ley’s Pride and Stellar. New Zealand Flying Stakes: Derive and Gentry, False Step and Thunder.
