N.Z. COLOMBO PLAN AID
Check On Use Urged
(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, November 19.
The executive of Auckland Federated Farmers is still not happy about the use of New Zealand’s contributions to the Colombo Plan. It decided today to take the matter up again with the Minister of Internal Affairs (Mr Anderton). Mr M. R. Martin, who last month spoke of “misappropriation of Colombo Plan funds,” said today that the spending of the money should be checked by the country giving it. Mr A. R. Hughes said that in Bombay, a New Zealand plant was being used for dumped American milk powder “cutting us out of the market.” In Burma, there were acres of American tractors- falling to bits because they were unsuitable, said Mr W. Wesley.
