November 18 : The Indonesian Embassy today ‘ turned over the Filipino ComJmunist leader (Alfredo Saulo) to i the Philippine Government. ‘ Saulo. who sought political ■•asylum in the Indonesian Embassy ’ here on Wednesday last, was im- * mediately brought to the Foreign ‘, Office. ■' Saulo. a leader of the outlawed Hukbalahap terrorist organisation. j left the Indonesian Embassy accompanied by Philippine intelligence officers. ! The chief of the Intelligence Division of the Philippine Foreign Office (Alberto Katigbak) received Saulo at the Embassy and delivered him to the Foreign Office. I In n statement, the Philippines 'Secretary of Foreign Affairs (Mr Fclixberto Serrano) said the ; handing over of Saulo was the “result of careful and thorough ! arrangements.” I Mr Serrano said the Saulo ca: c 1 had been resolved with no coneditions asked for and no conditions granted by cither the Tndo‘nesian or Philippine governments. I With respect to charges against r Saulo. Mr Serrano assured Mr j Pamontjak. the Indonesian Ambassador, that ho would bo given i fair trial in accordance with the ' : Philippines Constitution and laws lof the land.
