U.S. Authority On Leprosy In N.Z.

(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, Nov. 12.

No healthy person need have any great fear of contracting leprosy by contagion, said Dr. Howard Cole, a United States authority on the disease, today. “I have worked among lepers for many years, and the thought never troubled me.” he said. Dr. Cole, who, with Mrs Cole, visited Auckland in the Mariposa today, is also a world authority on germ warfare. Of this aspect of his work during the war. Dr. Cole preferred to say little. “We did not intend to use biological warfare ourselves, but we had to be prepared in case the other side did,” he commented. “If germ warfare had ever been used, it would have wrought great havoc.”
