New Ladderless Stockings

(Special Correspondent N.ZJ’.A.) LONDON, September 26. . A British nylon stocking has been produced that cannot be laddered if it is rubbed with shopping baskets, a garden broom, a chunky bracelet, coconut matting, thorny roses or rough chairs.

It is not a mesh stocking, but is manufactured by a machine which knits and locks the stitches. It looks like a normal fully fashioned stocking, but is run-resistant and proof against snags.

It is intended for every-day use, rather than evening wear, and will cost about 18s a pair. The stocking Should be in limited supply on October 20.
