Pinus Timber For Antarctic
The United States Antarctic expedition has signed a contract with the Jarrah Timber Company for the purchase of 44,000 boara feet of Pinus radiata for reconstruction work on the tunnels between the buildings at the South Pole and Byrd stations. The order is for 10ft, 12ft, ana 14ft lengths of more than a dozen different cross-section* ranging from four inch by one inch to 10 inch by four inch. The value of the order is £1350. The timber will be taken south by Globemaster aircraft
