NEW FRIGATES FOR THE ROYAL NEW ZEALAND NAVY.—H.M.S. Tenby, a Whitby-class anti-submarine frigate, travelling at speed while on patrol in the eastern Mediterranean Sea. Two ships of this class are being built for the Royal New Zealand Navy. It is expected that the first, named Otago, will be launched by Princess Margaret at Southampton in November, and that the second frigate, the Taranaki, will be launched by Princess Alexandra of Kent at Cowes next June. Whitby frigates have been officially described as the most useful class of small ships yet put into service with the Fleet.
